Never Forget

Our Fallen Heroes

Fire Fighting is one of the most demanding professions in the United States.

The members of our department devote time, physical and mental efforts, even when our station is not responding to emergency calls. The State of West Virginia requires multiple training courses to be recognized as a fire fighter. In addition, numerous trainings and classes are offered in various specialties to improve skills, knowledge and ability.

However, as a volunteer organization, our department can also often use the help of our area residents to help operate and keep our fire department functioning.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Eleanor Volunteer Fire Department, use our 'Contact Us' page to let us know. Our Fire Chief or one of our members will see that you receive an application to join our team.

Applications for new members are reviewed the first Tuesday of each month during our departments business meeting. You should plan to be present for this meeting.

The members of the Eleanor Volunteer Fire Department take a tremendous amount of pride in our jobs and roles within our station. Our members come from various backgrounds, professions, and many have spouses and children. Yet each belong to a 'second' family. A family whose dedicated to protecting the lives and property we serve each and every day and night.
